SureCare Scarborough nominated for Business Excellence in Sustainability

SureCare Scarborough is delighted to be shortlisted as a finalist for the Sustainable Business Award as part of the Scarborough News Business Excellence Awards 2022.

As the only care provider to make the final list for this award, SureCare Scarborough is delighted to have been recognised for their ongoing efforts in making a positive contribution to the local community. The awards ceremony is due to be held on Thursday 1st December.

The Sustainable Business Award aims to recognise local businesses that put sustainable practices and environmental protection at the heart of their operations. The winner will be determined by how well businesses can demonstrate their green credentials and how they limit their carbon footprint.

It is because of SureCare Scarborough’s greener approach to their daily activities that the team are glad to be recognised as one of the top sustainable businesses in the area. Care workers are strongly encouraged to utilise environmentally friendly modes of transport like walking or cycling to reach clients across our close-knit community, as opposed to relying on cars for short journeys.

The team have also pulled together to work collectively and take several initiatives to reduce the business’ carbon footprint. Like many businesses today, SureCare Scarborough looks for new ways to improve energy efficiency to cut down on usage at their branch office. This, in turn, helps the business to benefit from lower energy bills as well as reducing their overall impact on the local environment.

Everybody at SureCare Scarborough is excited to see if they can end a challenging 2022 on a high at the Business Excellence Awards. Members of the team will be present at the ceremony on 1st December with their fingers crossed to hopefully bring home the Sustainable Business prize.
