Overview

We’re looking for a compassionate and dedicated Care Worker to join our team at Stourbridge, Hagley, and Halesowen, providing personalised support and companionship to help our clients live comfortably, safely, and independently in their own homes. If you have a caring nature, excellent communication skills, and a genuine desire to make a positive difference every day, we’d love to hear from you.

Pay Rate

  • Weekdays / Evenings / Weekends: £12.80 to £13.00
  • Senior staff based on work experience / NVQs: £13.00 to £15.00
  • Bank Holidays: x1.5 contract base rate
  • Christmas Day / Boxing Day / New Year’s Day: x2 contract base rate

Working Hours

Full-time and part-time positions available. Shift patterns include mornings, evenings and every other weekend. We can negotiate weekends to every other Saturday OR Sunday.

Role and Responsibilities

As a Care Worker covering Stourbridge, Hagley, and Halesowen, you will play a vital role in supporting our clients to live safe, dignified, and independent lives. Key duties and requirements include:

Personal Care & Daily Living Support

  • Assist with washing, dressing, toileting and continence care
  • Support with mobility (e.g. transfers, use of mobility aids)
  • Help clients with meal planning, preparation and feeding where required

Medication & Health Monitoring

  • Prompt and supervise medication administration according to care plans
  • Observe and record changes in health, behaviour or wellbeing
  • Liaise with healthcare professionals (nurses, GPs, therapists) as needed

Companionship & Emotional Support

  • Provide meaningful companionship and engage in social activities
  • Encourage hobbies, outings and community participation
  • Offer reassurance and emotional support during challenging times

Household & Practical Tasks

  • Light domestic duties: laundry, bed‑making, dishwashing, tidying
  • Accompany clients to appointments, shopping or social events
  • Assist with budgeting and managing household errands

Record Keeping & Communication

  • Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date care records and daily logs
  • Report any safeguarding or welfare concerns immediately
  • Communicate clearly with clients’ families, our office and other professionals

Essential Requirements

  • A caring, patient and reliable attitude with excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, follow care plans and use initiative
  • Willingness to undertake training (e.g. NVQ/QCF in Health & Social Care)
  • Valid DBS (or willingness to apply) and the right to work in the UK
  • Full UK driving licence and use of a reliable vehicle (preferred)

Desirable Attributes

  • Previous experience in domiciliary care or a healthcare setting
  • Knowledge of Safe Moving & Handling techniques
  • First Aid qualification or willingness to train
