Overview

SureCare Wycombe & Chiltern looks after vulnerable and elderly people who rely on our committed, loyal, trustworthy, genuine and friendly care workers, to help them maintain their independence in their own homes. We are looking for the best care assistants to join our dedicated team to promote wellbeing, choice and dignity to those who really deserve it.

This is a key role in ensuring only the highest standards of quality care are delivered at all times. Senior Care Workers are responsible for implementing quality control systems, supporting our service users and providing ongoing support to all care staff within a defined geographical area.

Position will be subject to satisfactory enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references and the right to work in the UK. Full clean valid driver’s licence and own transport is desirable or access to a bicycle. Walkers may be accepted dependent on area. We look forward to welcoming you on board!

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • New client assessments.
  • Monitor and update documentation, including support plans.
  • Introductory visits of new care workers to clients.
  • To be part of the on-call team.
  • Involved with the induction of all new care workers.
  • Identify any additional training needs of care workers.
  • Report any changes in a care worker’s or client’s schedule to the Care Co-ordinator.
  • To monitor, supervise, support and mentor all care workers in the field.
  • To monitor all clients for service and care worker satisfaction.
  • To ensure accuracy and completeness of all documentation held in clients’ homes.
  • To ensure that all written reports and administration is up to date.
  • Regular auditing of MAR Charts and Communication Records.
  • Train the Trainer: Deliver training to fellow care workers and staff.
  • Provide ongoing, continuity of care for service users, including personal care.
  • Assist and enable service users with food preparation, dressing and undressing, washing, using the toilet, bathing, and medication prompts.

Skills/Experience Required

  • Level 3 Diploma in Health and Care or previous work experience required in Senior Care Worker position (or similar position) or above.
  • Caring, kind, and enthusiastic.
  • Compassionate, reliable, and punctual.
  • Able to work well in a team as well as independently.
  • Able to lead and support a team.
  • Strong communication skills for liaising with families and other stakeholders.
