SureCare Central Cheshire celebrates as Winner of Above and Beyond Team Award

SureCare Central Cheshire is thrilled to announce that we have been awarded the prestigious Above and Beyond Team Award (North) at this year’s Stars of Social Care Awards which took place in London on Friday 12th June 2026.
We’re pleased to have been shortlisted for 2 awards: one for our care worker, Barbara Lander, who was a finalist in the New to Care Award, while the whole team was recognised with the Above and Beyond Team Award (North).
When coming to their decision, the judging panel said: “SureCare Central Cheshire consistently demonstrates what it means to go above and beyond. Through creativity, compassion and a deeply person-centred approach, the team supports people to live independently while maintaining dignity, choice and safety. Their commitment to community inclusion, teamwork and exceptional care has transformed lives and earned the trust of families across the region.”
Kirstie Hercules, Director, said: “To be finalists in 2 awards and to win the Team Award has made us beyond happy. We received the Top 20 Home Care Provider for the North West last year and this further demonstrates what exceptional care our team provide.”
Sarah Castelow, Registered Manager, added: “Our team is not task-driven; they are people-driven. They cook, garden, create and celebrate alongside clients, encouraging independence and meaningful activity. They build deep, lasting relationships. Families consistently share heartfelt thanks and outstanding reviews in recognition of truly exceptional care.”
Barbara shared her feelings on being nominated and said: “When I heard that I had been selected as a finalist, I was shocked, proud, and incredibly happy — grinning from ear to ear. It gave me a real boost in confidence, and it was so rewarding to know that our hard work had been recognised.”
She went on to say: “Attending the awards ceremony was a fantastic experience. Tina and Sarah looked after me so well, and the event itself was both glamorous and welcoming. It exceeded all my expectations. SureCare winning a team award was incredible, the evening couldn’t have been better. So proud. We are an amazing team. It is a memory I will always treasure.”
Tina Jones, Director said: “We love putting nominations forward for our team as we want them to have wider recognition for the exceptional work that they do and the difference they make to people. The awards were hosted by Josie Gibson who praised the work of the adult social care sector and made the awards evening engaging and fun. Being able to take team members to these events and have some time out from their caring roles is a fantastic treat for their hard work.”
