SureCare Partners with Whzan to Bring NHS-Validated Health Monitoring to Domiciliary Home Care
Posted on 12 March 2026
We’re pleased to announce that SureCare has partnered with Whzan Digital Health to equip our care teams across the UK with remote patient monitoring technology. The partnership will enable SureCare providers to conduct NHS-validated wellness checks for clients in their own homes, utilising a range of digital health check equipment for measuring vital signs.
Whzan’s ‘Blue Box’ is an accessible health tool kit that can capture and monitor a person’s vitals remotely, making it ideal for at-home use. The technology enables care workers to measure vital signs and it delivers instant results using the NEWS2 is a scoring system, commonly used by the NHS and across the clinical sector, to identify readings like blood pressure, pulse, body temperature, and blood oxygen levels.
The health check technology automates NEWS2 and patient status alerts from readings to highlight early warning signs of deterioration, as well as support timely and appropriate escalation. By carrying out these health checks at home, SureCare clients can experience health check-ups with a trusted care worker, similar to what they would get by going out to visit their GP.
On the partnership, SureCare CEO Gary Farrer said: “We’re pleased to begin rolling out new Digital Health Check services throughout our nationwide network. The checks that can be carried out by our care teams using the Blue Boxes really complement our home care services, and reassure SureCare clients and their families of our commitment to caring for them. Like many other businesses today, care providers are looking towards diversifying their services, and the ability to offer these health checks is another string to our bow.”
The partnership brings a range of benefits to SureCare’s clients and their families. By giving care workers access to NHS-validated assessment tools designed for non-clinical users, clients can receive more consistent health monitoring from the comfort of their own homes. Early identification of changes in health enables faster intervention, while families gain peace of mind knowing their loved ones are being monitored using trusted, NHS-validated technology.
For SureCare’s care teams, the Whzan system removes complexity from health monitoring. Care workers can conduct assessments confidently, with results that integrate seamlessly with care plans and ensure clear communication with healthcare professionals.
We will be rolling out the Digital Health Check service to our nationwide network of care providers from March onwards. However, a handful of SureCare branches signed up to be early adopters of Whzan’s Blue Box to trial the service.
Sarah Castelow, Register Manager at SureCare Central Cheshire, said: “We’ve been using the Blue Box since February to monitor the stats of our clients in a few different ways. For some clients, using the blue box gives them reassurance and some just love having the extra TLC they get from us checking their health signs. We have also been using the Blue Box in the community, attending daytime groups to check people’s vital signs and provide more information about our services. We are really enjoying using the Blue Box and we’re proud to be able to share our experiences of being one of the first branches to take this forward.”
Alexander Schmid, CEO of Whzan, said: “We are thrilled to partner with SureCare to deploy the Blue Box and wellness checks across their franchise network throughout the UK. SureCare shares our commitment to raising the standard of domiciliary care, and this partnership ensures that clients receiving care at home benefit from the same NHS-validated health monitoring trusted by clinicians. It is partnerships like this that demonstrate the transformative impact our Blue Box and remote monitoring technology can have across the UK home care sector.”
The rollout is now underway, with training and onboarding support provided by Whzan to ensure care teams feel confident using the technology from day one. As we are still in the early stages, SureCare’s new Digital Health Check service may not necessarily be available in your area right away. Please get in touch with your local SureCare branch to find out more information on Health Check availability.
